North Coast Santiago and Jarabacoa Tour

An absolutely smashing day out for the whole family. Party of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 12 & 16. No body was rushed around, the guides took their time to explain our location, what we were seeing, in a humerous and informative way. Our kids loved the swimming and cigar factory, an experience for them never done before, they couldn't stop laughing at the old women with huge stoogies in their mouths! Interesting to visit Santiago, second largest city of the Dom Rep, but the scenery is what is going to make everyone's day out for sure. The valley, the hills, the mountains are just too green and tropical to be true. A great comparison from being "beach bound" for a few days to actually see something apart from sand and sea, that sounds ungrateful doesnt it, but a transformation of scenery was a real up lifter for us all. Kids were a bit picky about the food but what kids aren't at 12 & 19 and unfortunately no MacDonalds in the mountains, although we did pass one in Santiago and a Burger King and a KFC, kids had faces pressed to window whining for a stop! We got some good souvenirs from this excursion, but even better memories of a great family friendly day out. Thanks to Miguel our Hola Tours guide in the Dominican Republic for a job well done.
