How Does It Work?

We have made purchasing our range of Dominican excursions as easy as possible and we have ensured that each excursion follows these guidelines.
  • That the price we sell the excursions for online are equal or cheaper than those sold in the hotels of the Dominican Republic
  • There are no "hidden extras" to be paid when you go on the excursions - the price you pay here includes everything in our tour descriptions.
  • Each excursion have been checked by a Real DR employee to ensure that a quality, informative and fun tour is being provided to our customers
  • All food and drink received on the excursions is of an excellent Dominican quality
  • Each exursion is fully insured
  • Each excursion provides a guide that is both knowledgable about the Dom Rep and have an excellent command of the English language
And this is how it all works....

Excursion Selection

As a visitor you can view all of our excursions, add the quantity of adults and child you have in your party and select a number of excursions to add your own shopping cart. You can also choose your preferred day of the week to go on the excursion. (A list of available days is situated next to the adult and child quantity boxes) as well as a preferred date (MM/DD/YYY format).

Your Shopping Cart

As you select your different excursions these will be added to your "shopping cart". You will be automatically taken to your shopping cart after adding each excursion, so that you may see the total amount. If you would like to add more excursions to your cart, simply click on the "Continue Shopping" button. If you would like to remove one of your excursion purchases, simply click next to the excursion and click on the delete button. The excursion is automatically removed and the total amount adjusted for you.

Shopping Account

In order to ensure that we send your excursion details to the correct email address, we ask you to complete our registration form which will appear when you go to the checkout. We only ask for miminal information to ensure delivery of your purchased items. If you have shopped with us in the past, you can enter your email address and password (this is sent to you via email) and go straight to check-out.
Please note: That any information you enter in the account form is held on a secure server and is not, under any circumstances, passed onto any third party.


Checking your Details

Once you click "Go to Checkout" you will be automatically be directed to our Billing and Payment Information page. Please check that your address in correct. At the bottom of this page is an information box which must be completed in order to arrange pick-up times from your hotel. Please add the following details required (there is a helpful hint above the text box):
  • Your hotel name (eg. Hotel Avienda)
  • Your resort (eg. Puerto Plata)
  • Your arrival date (eg. MM/DD/YYYY)
  • Your vacation duration (eg. 14 nights)
Once these details are completed, please click on the "Continue Checkout" button which will take you to our Order Confirmation page

Order Confirmation

The order confirmation page lists the following details for you to check regarding your purchases:
  • Your billing/payment address (this will be used to check your credit card or PayPal account details)
  • Your vacation details (hotel name, resort name, arrival date, vacation duration)
  • Your shopping cart contents (all of your excursion purchases, including excursion name, number of adults, number of children, preferred day of excursion and the total cost for your purchases)
Please check all of the details on this page and click on any of the edit buttons to change your details. Once your are satisfied that all of the details are correct, please click on the "Confirm the order" button. You wil now be taken to the PayPal secure site to make a payment.

Paying for Excursions

We accept all major credit cards as well as PayPal. Once at the PayPal website, please enter either your credit card details or your PayPal account details. You will be asked to confirm payment. Please click "Pay" and then "Return to Merchant" and you will be taken back to the Real DR store. Please note that you DO NOT need a PayPal account to purchase excursions through our site

Receipt of Purchases and Payment

In order to ensure that you have a complete trail of your purchases and payment, we will send you, via email, the following receipts of payment:
  • A receipt from the Real DR Store detailing your purchases, your vacation information and the amounts paid
  • A receipt from PayPal confirming the amount paid to the Real DR Store
Please keep both of these receipt and take them with you on vacation. These can be used as proof of purchase, just in case you lose your excursion vouchers.

Your Excursion Vouchers

Within 4 days of purchasing your excursions from us (or even sooner if your are travelling within 14 days of purchasing your excursions) you will receive an email containing one excursion voucher FOR EACH EXCURSION BOOKED. These will be in Microsoft Word format and must be printed and taken with you on vacation. Each excursion voucher will include the following details:
  • The name of the person who made the booking
  • The hotel and resort name where the booking party are staying
  • The arrival date of the booking party
  • The vacation duration of the booking party
  • The excursion name
  • The excursion pick-up time and pick-up point
  • Excursion tips - eg. a reminder of things to take with you
  • Your booking reference number
In addition, there is a phone number to call in case of emergency (eg cancellation due to illness etc) as well as a reminder of the excursion tips for that particular excursion.

Things to Note

Before travelling to the Dominican Republic, please ensure that the following is completed:
  • Print your excursion vouchers, the Real DR confirmation email and the PayPal payment receipt and add them to your travel documents
  • Read our cancellation and refund poilcy
  • Read our terms and conditions
