The first stage of the Cap Cana project is being developed over the course of 10-12 years and is well underway - It covers a surface area of 8680 acres and also has more than five miles of spectacular beaches and limestone cliff around the coast. This area is going to bring a new way of living that brings together all the components needed to be a destination for prestige: the climate, the Caribbean charm, the opportunity to own beachfront property and play golf at the highest caliber. 
It currently has the Punta Espada golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, with the second "Las Iguanas" is nearly completed. In November 2008, Golfweek magazine quoted the "Punta Espada" as the number 1 in the Caribbean and Mexico and is home of the PGA TOUR'S Champions Tour.
