friday-satelliteA band of moist, unstable air is continuing to produce rain in much of Dominican territory. It is expected that by Saturday afternoon this should eventully move to the northwest of the country and out to sea, and with this the rains and storms will decrease in frequency and intensity.

The National Meteorological Office (ONAMET) maintains a warning against flash floods and landslides to residents in low lying areas near rivers, creeks and streams for the provinces of Maria Trinidad Sánchez, La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Romana, San Pedro de Macoris, Duarte (especially the lower Yuna), Monte Plata, Santo Domingo and the National District and maintains the alert against flash floods and landslides to residents in low lying areas near rivers, creeks and streams in the provinces of Samaná, Sánchez Ramírez, Santiago, Espaillat, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Peravia, Barahona, La Vega and Monsignor Nouel.

High temperatures are expected between 28-30ºC on Friday with evening lows between 22-24ºC
