Documents recently released by WikiLeaks show that some five years ago Dominican Leader Leonel Fernandez, while talking with United States officials, warned that former Haitian leader Jean-Claude Duvalier better know by his nickname, "Baby Doc" would not be permitted to return to Haiti via the Dominican Republic should he attempt to do so. Leonel was preempting Duvalier’s return as elections were taking part at that time in history.

Duvalier was leader of Haiti between 1971 until 1986 until an uprising by the people forced him to flee to France where he has been living in exile ever since - until he unexpectedly returned to Haiti last Sunday, January 16th 2011. According to CNN, Duvalier was guilty of killing thousands of Haitians during his reign as well as making millions of dollars through the drug trade.

Yesterday he was charged with corruption by Haitian authorities and willl go before a judge in the Capital, Port-au-Prince next week.
