Weather Report for Week Commencing Monday 9th July to Friday 13th 2007

Triple ChocHot literally HOT from the press room of The Real DR’s potting shed our intrepid weather team have managed to scrape themselves from their hammocks to stick a finger outside of the potting shed door to test the weather.  Lethargy on a massive scale has brought the normally intrepid weather team to a near standstill as temperatures rise and even the promises of a Corneto De Lux Triple Choc Ice Cream can do little to muster their wilting personas.

A new game of “Pounce on the Penguin” has started this week and for those of you not in the know, here in the Dom Rep the local ice cream boys have to dress up as penguins pushing their heavy penguin shaped coolies (on wheels – come on now) to sell their freezing iced treats to tourists and locals alike. The mere glimmer of a Penguin on the horizon is enough to start a small stampede from the weather room as middle aged gringo’s leap like wild gazelles from their computers and laptops to pounce on the poor penguin guy and relieve him of his Mr. Frosty Mango Moments …

Enough of day to day drama here is the weather report:

  • Monday 9th July – Hot enough to fry an egg as they say, temps in the day reaching 98F with a cooling off in the evening bringing temps down to 83F.
  • Tuesday 10th July – You’re now beginning to fantasize about living in Alaska, daytime temps of 97F and evening down to 81F.
  • Wednesday 11th July – There is a vicious rumor of a slight cloud appearing today Highs of 99F and evening will cool down to 82F.
  • Thursday 12th July – The swimming pool is no long a refreshing treat Temps in the day around the 99/100F with the evening bringing cooler air to around 84F
  • Friday 13th July – Could it be true, showers are mentioned? Daytime temps are expected to be around 94F today with a promise of clouds and rain showers later.

From everyone in the weather room potting shed here at the realdr, wishing you a great week and we’ll be with you all at the weekend for your Saturday and Sunday temps. Have a good one in the meantime.

The Weather Team.
