Weather conditions over the Dominican Republic will be dominated by the interaction of a trough with a tropical wave over Puerto Rico that is moving slowly toward the west. For Saturday expect a significant increase in the occurrence of cloudiness and scattered showers accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, especially toward the North, Northeast, Southeast. Sunday will start partly cloudy in most areas which will soon burn off, but as is the norm for this time of year, the odd thunderstorm could occur during the afternoon hours. Temperatures will remain warm with highs of 30-33ºC and lows of between 24-26ºCThe National Meteorological Office (ONAMET), continues to monitor a broad area of low pressure associated with localized showers and thunderstorms in the far eastern Atlantic. This system shows a 40% chance to develop into tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
