Originating from Spain in 1914, the Pina Colada travelled to the Caribbean and became the synonemous drink of the islands, but here in the Dominican Republic we have the best rums to use and home grown coconuts and pineapples in abundance! On Sosua beach on the north coast you can order one straight from a walking Pina Colada Maker, just imagine sipping your tropical treat underneath a swaying palm tree on a golden beach! Jealous yet?
