Overnight, Tropical Storm Tomas strengthened slightly and is now generating wind speeds of 50mph. Currently located 355 miles south of Port Au Prince, Haiti; Tomas is continuing on a westerly path at 12 mph.
OUTLOOK Both NOAA and TWC believe Tomas will continue on this westerly path for the next day or so then turn northerly gaining strength while over the open areas of the Caribbean. Tomas is capable of becoming a hurricane again. It is predicted Tomas will make landfall on the south coast of Hispaniola (Haiti and Dominican Republic) on Friday/Saturday this week.
