dom volleyballFresh from their "Final Four Cup" victory over Peru in September, the Dominican Republic Ladies Volleyball team is ready for the "Big One" - The FIVB World Championship 2010 held in Japan starting this weekend.

The ladies have a tough Group stage to negotiate through - China, Russia, South Korea, Turkey and Canada will all provide stiff opposition however, the ladies did beat China in the previous World Tournament.

Head Coach Brazilian Marcos Kwiek has taken the pressure off the ladies by playing down their chances when he said “Our goal is to make the final-twelve teams round and anything after that will be a plus. The team is well prepared and ready to make noise at this World Championship.”

How much noise will our ladies make... hopefully a loud one that results in a Gold medal!
