In an exciting and long match, Spain finally defeated Holland 1-0 for their first World Cup win. Andres Iniesta struck the winning goal late in extra time to give Spain their glory for the first time but condemned the Netherlands to their third defeat in a final.
Spain, who are also the Euro 2008 champions Spain, actually only conceded only two goals during the entire world Cup tournament, and their victory was well deserved after gradually taking a grip on a tense and bad-tempered contest that produced 14 yellow cards with Johnny Heitinga sent off on 109 minutes after picking up a second yellow card.
Finally...guess what?...Paul the octupus predicted this win too!
