The United States Senate confirmed on September 29 the nomination of Raúl H. Yzaguirre as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Dominican Republic. Following his confirmation, the new Ambassador is expected to relocate to the Dominican Republic in the coming weeks.
In nominating Mr. Yzaguirreand and other members of his team, American President, Barack Obama said: "As we work to strengthen our relationships in the global community and put our nation once again on the road to prosperity, I am confident that these people may represent our country well. I look forward to working with them in the coming months and years. "
