british-airwaysLondon, England - British Airways has announced that it plans to run at least half its flights from Heathrow Airport during next weeks cabin crew strike. The airline is expected to operate 60% of long haul flights and some 50% of its short haul routes. Passengers planning to travel from London Gatwick airport and London City airports are being told that they will not be affected by this strike action.

4 strikes are planned over a 20 day period with just one day between each. Members of the "Unite" union are due to strike Tuesday next week for five days in their long running dispute over jobs, pay and working conditions.

British Airways and travel agents are urging customers to check their reservations on the BA website or to call their travel agent to see if their flight will be affected by the industrial action.

British Airways has been making huge losses since March, what with the previous industrial strike action and the cancellation of hundreds of flights to the volcanic ash from Iceland, and this latest round of strikes is due to add more misery to both its stock holders and passengers alike.
