He said “Dominican Republic has much more to offer than just dreamy beaches and palms for example the capital Santo Domingo which is a world cultural legacy according to UNESCO, and connoisseurs say it is the most beautiful and oldest city of the new world.”
The brochure promotes the Dominican capital under their branding of “Santo Domingo Select” and describes the city as full of colonial monuments, where tourists can find the ideal and varied opportunity to pass two days “without beach” amid the sun and beach vacations of Punta Cana and La Romana.
TUI continues saying that Santo Domingo is America’s first city and suggests a visit to the Ozama, America’s First Fortress, and the cathedral. Volkner Bottcher continued to say “Santo Domingo has a large number of monuments to offer” noting the option of a two day tour with a flight from Punta Cana to the capital and a night in one of the top end hotels in Santo Domingo.

TUI, the leading German tour operator has recently published their summer 2008 brochure, in which they promote the Dominican Republic as the “market leader” in long distance travel. TUI president Volkner Bottcher was in the Dominican Republic for the launch of TUI’s summer brochure and spoke from Punta Cana in the Rui Palace Hotel in front of journalists from around the world.
