Tourism is on the Increase in Dominican Republic

punta cana vacation dominican republicThe latest figures are in from the Dominican Tourist Board and show that tourism has grown from March of 2007.  With 1.1 million people arriving this first quarter means a growth of 5.9% on last March.  Tourists from Canada and the US grew 9% and 7.4% respectively whilst tourists coming from Spain, Belgium and England increased too. Tourists from new countries are also making up high arrival figures from Russia, Ecuador and Peru. All in all 389,075 tourists arrived by air during March to the Dominican Republic's fair shores to enjoy a vacation in the sunshine.
