After months of delays the registration and renewal of motorcycle, scooter and like vehicle licence tags will commence next week. The process will last for three months.

There are over two million motorbikes in the Dominican Republic and the government stands to make quite the windfall in tax revenue even if all of them don't register or renew. The renewal fee is RD$250 with a fee of RD$350 to do a name transfer.
