On Friday temperatures in London reached a stifling 32ºC (90ºF) and are forecast to be the same today. An official heat-health alert has been put in place by authorities reminding the public to keep an eye out on the elderly and vulnerable. The UK´s Health Protection Agency has reported that there had been a rise in deaths over the past two weeks, due to the high temperatures affecting both the UK and Europe.
With the high temperatures, officials at the Silverstone race track are having concerns of the state of the track for the British Formula 1 Grand Prix on Sunday.
