An enthusiastic crowd of Washington Heights movie fans waited in eager anticipation at the Coliseum Theatre at the corner of Broadway and 181st Street to see the opening of the motion picture "Sanky Panky", many wearing Sanky Panky t-shirts.
The premise of the comedy movie, starring Fausto Mata as a smooth talking Sanky Panky with a lot of charisma, is one Sanky's goal to get a visa by seducing American and European tourists and the hijinks that ensue.
One problem for the distributors of the movie was that about half of the Washington Heights neighbourhood had already seen the movie on pirated DVD copies. For small independent companies such as the one that produced this movie even a small loss of sales due to piracy is a significant problem.
The movie already has an enthusiastic following.
