Dominican Environment Minister Jaime David Fernandez Mirabal will today officially open the "Whales Observation Center on Land" in Samana for 2011. Hundreds of tourists are already in Samana as the humpbacked whales make their annual pilgrimage to breed in the warm waters of the Caribbean. The Whales Observation Center was built so the whales can be monitored and observed by Marine Biologists.
