Quake Felt in Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico

According to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network, an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale occurred at 20:49 GMT yesterday. This is the fourth quake registered in the last three days.

With its epicentre 37kms south of La Romana in southeastern Dominican Republic and 167kms south of Mayagüez in western Puerto Rico, the tremor was felt in many areas of this country and some cities in western, central and northern Puerto Rico.

No damages or injuries have been reported as a result.
