Million peso reward for "honest" officer
Anyone rewarded with 1 million pesos is going to smile, but it appears that military discipline prevents it. The President of the National Drug Control, Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo, delivered to Air Force Major, Reinaldo Santos, Inspector of the Drug squad in Pedernales, a check for a RD$1,000,000 as a reward for having rejected a bribe for the same amount by a drug ring for an illicit drug transaction.
Major General Rolando Rosado, acknowledged yesterday several officers of the institution, who resisted the RD$600000 pesos and US$9,000 bribe a to deliver pure cocaine seized from drug traffickers, which they asked him to change to another material.
The General handed Santos the check for the the same amount offered to him by narcos and during the ceremony the DNCD also donated boats and vehicles for the local drug enforcement office in Pedernales.
