Merengue Festival of Santo Domingo to be held in July
Dominican Republic’s Ministry of tourism has announced that the Santo Domingo’s Merengue Festival is to take place from July 24th to July 27th 2008. The programme this year has a packed line up of stars according to the organizers billing, which includes, Tono Rosario, India Canela and Kinito Mendez appearing July 24th, Fernando Villalona, Kico el Presidente and Banda Gorda appearing July 25th, Pochy Familia and The Coco Band, Querubanda and Eddy Herrera July 26th with Sergio Vargas, Giovanny Planco and El Torito appearing on July 27th.
During the closing night of Sunday July 27th, simultaneous merengue bands will be performing live both from the Dominican Republic and also San Juan in Puerto Rico. Milly Quezada, Hermanos Rosario Grupo Mania, El Prodigio, Joseph Fonseca and Juan Castillo will be heading the bill in Puerto Rico.
