To corraborate this statement, it was announced that various generating power stations, currently off-line, would soon reenter the system. For example, the San Felipe generator in Puerto Plata, currently under maintenance, will add 185 megawatts and for December, AES Los Mina with 100 megawatts and the other unit in Los Mina which is undergoing repairs will add another 100 megawatts.
Earlier this week, the system was generating 1700 megawatts which was approximately 85% of the demand..an indication that things were going in the right direction.
Marranzini told reporters that in order for this good news to keep coming, then people must pay for what electricity they consume...with that the CDEEE has published a list of 156 people and companies that have committed a fraud against the system which has cost more than RD$15million. Of these 156, 116 cases have reached a payment agreement with the power suppliers and 40 have been sent to court.




Santo Domingo - The executive vice-president of the Dominican Corporation of State-owned Electric Enterprises (CDEEE), Celso Marranzini, has assured the Dominican population that there are changes within the electric system and that he was positive that during the Christmas holidays the DR would have relief from the lack of energy it currently has.
