President Leonel Fernandez was honoured with the Clinton 2010 "Leadship in Public Service" award for his reaction to the Haiti earthquake situation that occured on January 12th earlier this year. Leonel was the first Head of State to respond to the earthquake, flying into the zone the very next day. Leonel also sent state workers into Haiti to assist with electricity problems caused by the magnitude 7.0 earthquake. Leonel recieves "Leadship in Public Service" award
