Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi faces a vote of "No Confidence" today by members of the Italian Parliament. Last September there was a challenge to the three time Italian President that he saw off with a majority of 342-275. This time however the challenge seems to be for real.

Fighting for his political career, Berlusconi said "He who votes against us is betraying the mandate received from the electorate. In these particularly hard times for our country, we all have to find a way to be united and do what is best for the country,"

Should Berlusconi lose the vote today he has promised to call an election shortly.
