For the first time since 2008 the Australian Open Tennis Championships, in a year that saw all 8 seeds make the quarter finals - the No1 and No2 seeds will not contest the final. Top seed Rafa Nadal lost in yesterdays last quarter final match against fellow Spaniard David Ferrer in three straight sets although he admittedly had a terrible thigh injury early on in his match.
No2 seed Roger Federer, the 16 time Grand Slam Champion was strongly fancied to beat Novak Djokovic in the first semi-final however Djokovic hadn't seemed to have read the same script and defeated the "Fed Express" in three straight sets as well!Scotsman Andy Murray will take on David Ferrer in the second semi final for the right to play Djokovic in the final. Murray starts the mach as a 1/3 odds-on favorite to beat Ferrer, however, be warned, Nadal was much shorter odds than that to beat Ferrer in the quarters.
The semi final game will be broadcast live on BBC and ESPN tomorrow at 08.30 GMT.
