Cruise shipMiami FL - Executives from major some of the major cruise lines in the United States, will arrive in Puerto Plata this Wednesday to explore the possibilities of their participation in the tender for the construction of the Cruise terminal in this historic city.

The executives, including the Global Vice President of one of these cruise companies have assured the arrival of one million tourists annually to Puerto Plata, which has been reported could sway the Dominican government in the endorsement for the construction of the desired tourist and commercial port in this important North Coast destination.

The Royal Caribbean cruise company aims to turn Puerto Platas port into a "Mother Port", which means that it could be the hub of operations to and from the US.

The Director of the Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM), Jose Francisco Pena Guaba revealed that the cruise company, among others, is interested in building tourist terminal and generating business in the city, which again highlights the necessity that Puerto Plata needs to help increase tourism.
