Hoteliers Praise the Dominican Republic's Senate for approving New Industry Regulator

Iberostar Hotel, Punta Cana, Dominican RepublicThe National Hotel and Restaurant Association (Asonahores) have praised the Senate of the Dominican Republic for approving the project that creates the National Tourism Development Institure (Indetur) and have asked the Chamber of Deputies to approve it as soon as possible.  They have said that Indetur is a step FORWARD in tourism sustainability and development.

Tourism Minister for the Dominican Republic, Felix Jimenez has also been congratulated for the initiative.  Asonhores president Luis Lopex said that the project is the result of a consensus between the Tourism Ministry and the hoteliers, and is part of the National Competitiveness Plan.

The hoteliers of the Dominican Republic said that the Dominican Government has recognized the private tourism initiative through Indetur, and whose governing board Asonahores will have 2 representatives there, and the Dominican Tourism Real Estate Companies Association will have 1 representative.

Indetur will be headed by the Minister of Tourism and 2 other Government officials. The main objectives will be to plan the tourism regions development and infrastructure through out the Dominican Republic.
