Hope You Weren't Planning on Spending Easter at One of These Popular Swimming Spots

In the interest of safety over the popular Easter Week vacation time, the Emergencies Operation Commission (COE) has closed 50 popular swimming spots throughout the country including beaches, rivers, popular swimming holes and dams.

Closures around the Santo Domingo area are as follows: Sans Souci and El Hoyo beaches on Las Americas Highway, Manresa beach and swimming areas like El Charco de Manoguayabo, Puente Palavé Bienvenido, El Ocho de La Victoria, Manatí (La Victoria), El Pozo, La Malena, La Posita Cucama, Pozo Bayihan, Hato Nuevo, Playa Guiba and La Cueva.

Central Cibao region closures include Arroyo Pasor, Arroyo La Zurza, Arroyo de Gurabo, La Otra Banda dam and the Taveras, Bao and López Angostura dams.

Closures for the eastern region are Rio Bajito, La Manguita, Puente Maguá, Muelle Consuelo, La Represa, Las Tres Aguas, La Colita, Charco Las Siete Agua and Rio Guayubín.

In the south of the country the areas affected by the ban are Playa Acapulco, Saladilla, San Rafael, Galeón, Los Patos, Rio Mijo and Salto Vara de Capa dams, El Recodo, Rio Boyá, El Manguito and El Charco de la Guardia.
