The long holiday weekend here in the Dominican Republic is producing some excellent record hotel occupancies countrywide. The hotels along the North Coast, especially in Puerto Plata, are recording an excellent occupation of 90% - 95% for the long holiday weekend that began last Friday. Hoteliers have reported that the demand for rooms in recent days has been excellent, and some hotels are reporting 100% occupancy.
From the district of Sabaneta de Yásica, through to Cabarete and Sosua, he influx of tourists has increased considerably in the resorts and beaches this weekend.
Unfortunately for the locals, it is back to work tomorrow, so the hotels will return to the normal occupancy levels they have been experiencing of late just after lunchtime today.
