Former U.S. baseball player Sammy Sosa has sparked speculation that he is undergoing skin lightening treatment after appearing at an awards ceremony with dramatically paler skin than usual. Sosa was photographed at the Latin Grammy Awards a couple of weeks ago with startlingly light skin.Close friends and family have said that he is not trying to be Michael Jackson.
It is reported that he is going through a rejuvenation process for his skin and that he has been doing a dermatological skin process after years and years of playing baseball in the sun. Notably, Mr Sosa's wife, Sonya, appears not to have been affected by any photographic overexposure in any photographs.
Reporters were told that Mr Sosa was using a moisturising treatment on his skin at night and that he was always concerned with the way he looks, and that it was just probably just bad timing going to an awards show.
