Government Proving That Spending Isn't All For Big Cities

In an effort to prove that all the governments money isn't going just to the metro in Santo Domingo and other big city projects, the Director of Procomunidad, José González Espinosa has announced the funding of nine projects worth RD$14,532,357 for Yamasá municipality in the central province of Monte Plata.

Procomunidad, the goverment's social assistance program will fund over 64 projects in smaller communities across the country. The value of these projects will reach RD$78,102,454. They are hoping to prove to the population that the government isn't just interested in funding mega-projects in the big cities with the majority of the money staying in the capital, but that they are also investing in the development of small and poorer communities as well.
