Good News for Barahona
The south west of the Dominican Republic hosts a pretty much undiscovered area known as Barahona. To date this part of the Dominican Republic remains quite under developed with regard to it’s potential for tourism, mostly in favour of the rapidly growing resorts of Punta Cana & Samana. Over the next few years the Barahona region could grow by as much as 50% or more, particularly on completion of the Maria Montez International Airport in 2009. Barahona offers a more diverse eco tourism experience of the Dominican Republic.
The depth of wildlife, birdlife & beautiful scenery in this area makes the planned 500 room wellness resort a breath of fresh air for the DR.
