General Strike is Now Concluded in Dominican Republic

ImageThe nationwide national strike by the Alternative Social Forum concluded with 1 person dead and 5 others injured.  The workday and industrial activities suffered partial reductions with public transport grounding to a stand still.

It is thought about 35% of employees didn’t manage to make it to work according to the National Business Council in Santo Domingo.

Meanwhile the promoters of the strike said that the walk out was a “success” and announced an assembly on the 28th of this month to evaluate its results and to confirm if the Government has actually responded to any of its demands.
