Free Trade Means High Tech Changes

In a statement made during the inauguration of an advanced informatics training center the president of the Dominican Telecom Institute (Indotel), Jose Rafael Vargas, said that the implementation of DR-CAFTA will require the country's free zones into transforming into high-tech industrial parks in order to compete on the world market.

The new center is equipped with 10 computers with high speed internet connection and is located in Tecnologico Salesiano Institute (ITESA) in the Maria Auxiliario area of Santo Domingo. The official also urged the youth of the Dominican Republic to be prepared to face the challenges of DR-CAFTA.
