Casa de Campo, La Romana, DOminican RepublicThe Central Romana Group have announced their plans to construct a new five star Four Seasons Hotel in the luxury Casa de Campo resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic, at a cost of 120 million dollars.  Central Romana is hoping to attract high end tourists with this world famous hotel brand and to establish the Dominican Republic as one of the spot light leaders of tourism within the Caribbean market.

One of the founders of the Four Seasons hotel chain, Eddy Creed has said the new 200 room hotel would be built on 67 acres of prime Dominican Republic Caribbean land and also encompass a stretch of 3,100 feet of private beach front.

Super Suites at the hotel will cost 10,200 dollars per night and include 5 separate rooms, private swimming pool, gym, office facilities, spa and other amenities according to Mr. Creed.

Dominican Republic’s tourist minister Felix Jimenez said that this investment is an accomplishment for the hotel industry and the country’s image abroad, since it buries the vision that the country offers only low cost tourism, supported by the “all inclusive” system.

Architect Diego Villasenor has designed the exclusive hotel complex and the Architectural Design magazine has listed the forthcoming hotel as one of the top 50 in the world for outstanding quality and luxury.  The complex is scheduled to open in the winter of 2009 and will be the Four Seasons 74th hotel in its 31st country.
