Authorities said this type of thing isn't uncommon but the amount she was carrying was 'shocking".
Gill who resides in Union City, New Jersey has been charged with drug smuggling remains in custody and awaits trial.
Female caught with cocaine enroute to Boston from Dominican Republic
A 21 year old female, Luisa Gill was caught by Boston Customs Officials with nearly a pound of cocaine that she had ingested via condoms before she boarded the JetBlue flight from Puerto Plata on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
Customs officials noticed Gill was 'jittery' after the flight from the Dominican Republic and began questioning her. Gill admitted she had the drugs inside her and was taken to a nearby hospital where 50 condoms filled with the drug were recovered.
