The Dominican Customs Agency has seized yet another shipment of contraband goods imported from China through the Caucedo Multimodal Port. This time 29 containers of fake polo shirts and tennis shoes were confiscated. The goods were being brought in by the firm Negocios Sasme and bore false labels of the brands Polo and Ralph Lauren. The shipment also contained thousands of fake tags and seals.  The shipment is estimated to have a value of over RD$60 million.

The last shipment of goods imported from China that was seized was several containers of toothpaste containing a toxin that could result in death. Customs and the Armed Forces are still searching for stray tubes of the contaminated toothpaste.
