London UK - The Secretary of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia Fernandez, has announced 2 new weekly flights direct from London to Puerto Plata from mid November.
The announcment was made after two days of meetings at the World Travel Centre in London. During the aforementioned meetings Garcia Fernandez met with Spanish businessmen who are expected to raise US$300million for the restructure of Air Dominicana.
He also mentioned that the negotiations were part of the relaunch of Puerto Plata as a major tourist destination and to bring more visitors to the area.
The flights between London and POP are rumoured to be run by Virgin Atlantic Airways with a 5 year agreement between all parties.
