friday-satelliteWeather conditions for Friday and the early part of the weekend will be dominated by a weak trough located over Dominican territory. This coupled with the moisture caused by the prevailing wind from the Northeast, will result in the occurrence of scattered showers of short duration to many parts of the country throughout the next 24-36 hours especially along coastal areas.

For this weekend, no significant precipitation is expected, however, isolated showers may occur in the afternoons mainly to the Northeast and the Central Cordillera. Fridays high temperatures will be in the 30-32ºC range with evening lows dropping no lower than 22-24ºC

The National Meteorological Office (ONAMET) and NOAA are monitoring an area of showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds associated with a tropical wave located west of the Caribbean Sea, which shows a potential 10% chance to develop into tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours and another low pressure area with a potential 20% chance to develop as a tropical cyclone, located southwest of Cape Verde.
