world class links golf course known as "Teeth of the Dog" and is a beautiful place to stay. Altos de Chavon is a Roman style amphitheater and is an amazing place to see a concert. Completed in the early 1980's, the venue was inaugurated by Frank Sinatra and has since featured such acts as Sting, Julio Iglesias and Juan Luis Guerra amongst many others. The acoustics are amazing and with a capacity of only 5,000 people is an intimate place to see a concert. Highly recommended.
Duran Duran to play concert in Dominican Republic on April 30
British Pop Legends Duran Duran are scheduled to perform in La Romana at the Altos de Chavon Amphitheater on April 30th.The 80’s Super Group whose hits include “The Reflex”, “Girls on Film” and “Rio” (to name just a few) have performed in the Dominican Republic before back in 2001 at the same venue.
Tickets for the concert will be available from SkyTixs, Body Shop, Uepa Tickets, Ticket Express and Supermercardos Nacional with prices starting at $1500RD.... (That’s $40 U.S or £64 GBP). La Romana is situated in the south east of the Dominican Republic. Tourists staying in Punta Cana, Bavaro and Cap Cana can expect a journey of around 2 hours each way to and from the venue.
