Yesterday, Officers from the DNCD (Dominican Drug Control Agency) seized some 80 packages of what is thought to be cocaine or heroin hidden inside a container onboard a ship originating from Peru at the southern port of Punta Caucedo.

President of the DNCD Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo who leading the investigation said five containers were due to leave the country on the vessel before it was seized.

Other sources are saying another 100 kilo's of the drug have been found inside a separate container.
