Indotel, The Dominican Telecom Institute has clarified today that contrary to what the National Radio Transmitters Association (Anercom)says, the new regulation reduces the sum to be paid for the use of radio frequencies.

Indotel has indicated that the charge denounced by Anercom intends to question a legal exercise contemplated in the General Telecommunications Law No. 153-98.

Indotel explained that by taking away the minimum charge the stipulation pursues by way of a new calculating formula, which will considerably reduce amounts charged for the right to use an airway.

Indotel said that the recent legal claims recently presented by members of Anercom against Indotel are "inappropriate and absurd."
