The Dominican Republic clinched another gold medal this time in cycling over in Rio de Janeiro where the 2007 Pan American games are currently being held. This medal came as something of a surprise when Wendy Cruz came from nowhere to clinch the gold in the final stage of the 158km route. Cruz who covered the distance in 3.38.50 with an average speed of 42.772 kph was as surprised as anyone with this fantastic result.
