As of 5.00am the National Hurricane Center has placed the Dominican Republic's south coast on a Tropical Storm Watch.  As of previous please do not panic, a Tropical Storm Watch means that Tropical Storm Conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 36 hours. Please keep reading this site for updated information regarding Hurricane Dean.

hurricane dean predicted path 5.00am August 17 2007At 5.00am AST...0900 UTC A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for the Southwestern peninsula of Haiti from Port au Prince to the Haitian/Dominican Republic Border.  A Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect for the South Coast of the Dominican Republic from Cabo Engano to the Haitian/Dominican Republic Border.  A tropical Storm Watch means that Tropical Storm Conditions are possible within the watch area...Generally within 36 hours. It is NOT expected to impact LAND.
