Sadly, Freddy Beras Goico, actor, comedian and possibly the 'most influential' T.V figure in the Dominican Republic died yesterday from complications of pancreatic cancer in New York aged 69.
His death will be a bitter blow to Dominican families both in the United States and his Homeland.
President Leonel Fernandez spoke of Freddy's past television career whose unique style allowed Dominicans to consider for themselves political and social conflicts with his broadcasting.
The President added "He appealed with energy and integrity for the construction of a better society".
His body was scheduled to be transported back to his homeland Friday for a funeral.
