Carlos Morales TroncosoForeign Minister for the Dominican Republic Carlos Morales Troncoso has embarked at the beginning of the week on a two day visit to Britain in the hope that he can continue to improve and strengthen relations between the two countries. The initial foundations for his visit were laid by President Leonel Fernandez who visited the U.K. last year.

During this whirlwind trip consisting predominantly of speaking & dinner engagements, the minister hopes to highlight issues within the Caribbean region, such as the current status of relations between the Dominican Republic & Haiti and to make a case for the Dominican Republic’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.

The Minister will also attend a garden party to be held at Buckingham Palace, hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
