Dominican Republic is No 1 for Caribbean Tourist Arrivals
The figures are in for last year’s tourist season of 2007, and the Dominican Republic has completely surpassed all other Caribbean islands in receiving a record number of tourists. Figures come from the Caribbean Tourist Organization or the CTO. More than 3 million travelers were welcomed to the Dominican Republic during January to October of 2007; these figures do not even include the many thousands of tourists who came to the Hispaniola shores via cruise boat.
