Dominican Republic CLOSES border with Haiti

dominican presidentThe Dominican Republic President, Leonel Fernandez has taken the decision to close ALL borders with Haiti amid the cholera crisis that has plagued Haiti over the past week.

United Nation Peacekeepers as well as Dominican Armed Forces will protect the 130 mile-long border. The Government also said it has the resources needed to keep the disease from entering the country.

Government Press director Rafael Núñez announced the implementation of a sanitary quarantine along the border in collaboration with Haiti.
