President Leonel Fernandez and Puerto Rican Premier Luis Fortuno yesterday met to discuss closer trade and economic ideas including reinstating a the ferry service that was suspended over a year ago due to private companies being unable to negotiate an acceptable fee between themselves.
Other topics discussed was the possibility of Puerto Rico supplying the Dominican Republic with power via an underwater cable system and several textile/manufacturing companies to be created along the Haiti border to give work for some of the Haitians who's homes were destroyed by the 12 January earthquake.
